Cleaning & Maintaining Tumbled Marble

Tumbled marble is one of the easiest natural products to care for and maintain.  It can be found intact in historic homes more than 100 years old without any noticeable wear.

Sealing Tumbled Marble

The most important step in maintaining tumbled marble is to seal it with a marble limestone impregnator. This should be done as part of the installation process. Without sealing tumbled marble, it will absorb anything that comes into contact with it such as wine, coffee or spaghetti sauce, creating a stain that cannot easily be removed.

Once installed and sealed, marble used in backsplashes, wall accents or trims will usually never need sealing again. Marble floors in homes may need to be resealed every 5 to 10 years and in commercial high traffic areas, floors may need to be resealed every year

Cleaning Tumbled Marble Tiles

Tumbled marble can be cleaned simply by wiping it down with water. In normal uses in the home, nothing more is needed

If there is a need for a heavier cleaning, it is necessary to use a PH neutral cleaner because any cleaner such as vinegar or soap that is acidic will eat the sealer making the marble tiles susceptible to staining.
